A photograph of the multimedia artwork “Can’t Help Myself” by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu. In a room with white floors and walled with windows, a black artist-modified robot utilizes custom computer code to identify a red blood-like liquid on the exhibition floor and to contain it around its base with swipes of an attached squeegee. As the robot rotates to target the flowing liquid, it completes dance-like movements and gestures with its arm. The blood-like liquid is splattered everywhere.
