Fig_2_2000px

A photograph of artist Tim Hawkinson’s “Überorgan” installed at Mass MoCA in 2000. In an airplane hangar-sized warehouse with white walls and dark grey floors, a series of tubes, wires, and curtains run adjacent to or hang down from the rafters. Some of the tubes are very long and appear to be made of silver metal, while others look like thin clear plastic, and are connected to large inflated sacks that are scattered around the room. In the left foreground, an area cordoned off with yellow rope contains shelving units that each hold multiple bolts of plastic sheeting, or fabric.
