Frank Stella_Marrakech_1964_1281w

A concentric square painting by artist Frank Stella. A square canvas is split into four triangle sections that point toward a central fulcrum. All squares are rendered in brick red and yellow stripes; the stripes in the top and bottom triangle are vertical, while the stripes in the left and right triangles are horizontal. The overall effect reads like an optical illusion, creating a 3-d space on a 2-d form.
