Venus of the Anthropocene

An installation photo of a multimedia artwork by Lynn Hershman Leeson, titled “Venus of the Anthropocene,” from 2017. In a white walled room with light wood floors, a blonde female figure clad in a black blazer and dark denim stands with her back to the camera, leaning forward slightly to look at text and images on a small screen mounted to the wall in front of her. Directly to her right, a limbless mannequin wearing a white long-haired wig is set atop a white vanity stool upholstered with zebra fabric. Both the stool and viewer stand on a circular white rug, their shadows cast against the wall.
