LEFT: A photograph of an equipment kiosk containing the technical gear required to access artist Janet Cardiff’s audio walk entitled “The Telephone Call”. The kiosk is cornflower blue and has two vertical levels with built in shelves; the upper shelf, which is extended from the kiosk’s rectangular frame, holds two black docks with 8 smartphones in each, and each phone is plugged into the dock by a black USB cord. The lower shelf, which is partially obscured, has two vertical racks with sets of black headphones and long auxiliary cords draped over them. RIGHT: A photograph of a Motorola Moto E5 Play, an Android smartphone with a touchscreen, first produced in 2018. The phone is a rectangular shape with rounded edges, and is made of black material with blocks of white text in various fonts and sizes. It is shown screen-side down on a light wood table, with the back panel open to reveal the phone’s battery, camera, and serial number. The left side of the phone case has two circular holes for the camera lenses
