Dedalus Fellow in Modern and Contemporary Conservation, Amy Hughes,

A photograph of Dedalus Fellow in Modern and Contemporary Conservation, Amy Hughes

A photograph of 2012-2013 Dedalus Fellow in Modern and Contemporary Conservation, Amy Hughes, using a hand held vacuum and brush to clean the surface of a 1964 painting on paper by abstract expressionist Lester Johnson. Hughes is a light-skinned female with blonde hair tied back in a bun; she wears a navy and teal horizontal striped shirt, and holds a small blue vacuum in her left hand. The painting she is working on sits face up on a large white table in what looks to be a conservation lab, with technical equipment spread throughout. The painting itself is abstract and made with various shades of blue paint.
