Robert Gober’s untitled photograph of a bride, from 1992

Robert Gober’s black and white untitled photograph of a bride, from 1992. A light-skinned bride stands at center, facing partially to the left, in an off-the-shoulder long sleeve white satin wedding gown. The bride’s black hair is pulled back into an updo at the nape of her neck, and the crown is studded with flowers, offset by a transparent veil that cascades down to her waist. In her proper left hand, she holds a bouquet of lilies. The train of the dress swirls around and behind her on the floor.
