Roberta Friedman and Grahame Weinbren, “The Erl King”

Roberta Friedman and Grahame Weinbren, "The Erl King"

A still from artists Roberta Friedman and Grahame Weinbren’s interactive cinema work entitled “The Erl King” from 1981-85. In the lower right portion, a young, light-skinned man in a tuxedo plays a black piano with sheet music spread across the music rack. The lower left and back of the scene are dominated by palm trees, all bathed in a deep orange glow. A woman stands at the back center amidst the palms, and sings into a microphone stand. She wears a brown checkered dress and a small, black brimmed hat adorned with flowers.
