A detail of “Mary’s Lake, MT 9” by artist Matthew Brandt shows a section of the print that has been warped and abstracted after being soaked in water. The bottom and left margins of the image are dominated by swirls of acid yellow, which bleed into splotches of chili pepper red, brackish green and brown with hints of purple.
