REABRACADBRA
A photograph of REABRACADABRA (1984) by Brazilian artist Eduardo Kac. Originally, to view Kac’s art, which was made using a a proto-internet called videotexto, one would go to a bank, access a terminal, and link to a unique number where one could download some very beautiful early internet poetry. As the network no longer exists, it is now exhibited as a video from a rigged hardware-video version. Here, a small but bulky early Philips minitel computer equipped with a built-in keyboard and square screen shows a capital letter A outlined in red against a black background.
